Chile can do it all: from fresh vibrant Sauvignon Blancs which combine the elegance of Loire with the racy fruit of New Zealand, to silky smooth, chocolatey Cabernet Sauvignon. It can also boast that its ‘own’ variety, Carmenere, which it has resurrected after its destruction in Bordeaux over 160 years ago. Today, Carmenere is producing juicy, plump reds with bags of autumnal fruit flavours- yummy! In Chile they are quick to trumpet new, cooler sub-regions such as Bio Bio and Limari where aromatic varieties such as Riesling and Gewurztraminer are thriving: Chile really can do it all!
